Vector Padé approximations have been defined by the author in a related paper [Proc. 11th IMACS World Congress, Oslo, North-Holland, Amsterdam (1985)] in such a way that many of the results of the scalar theory persist in generalized form. These vector Padé approximants are identical with a special, homogeneous type of simultaneous Padé approximants. In the paper under review, the definition and some basic properties of vector Padé approximants as well as a corresponding vector QD algorithm are recalled first. Then, using this QD algorithm, an extension of the cross rule to the vector case is established.
