A simple partial fraction is a function of the form \(Q'_n/Q_n\) for a complex-valued, monic-polynomial \(Q_n\) (of a complex variable) of degree \(n\). Notice that this is the derivative of the logarithm of \(Q_n\). A body of research chronicles the approximation properties of this set of approximates. Particular attention relates the similarities to approximation from polynomials. This work analyzes non-uniqueness examples and extends to arbitrary degree \(n\), results that were previously only known for \(n = 2\) and \(3\).
