It is well known that the classical Newton-Kantorovich method, Halley's method and many others in the class of methods devoted to solving a nonlinear equation \(F(x)=0\), are obtained by considering a corresponding truncated Taylor expansion of \(F\). This happens in the framework of the usual calculus. In the paper under review, by using the so called \(q\)-calculus, for which the authors develop specific tools as mean value theorems, needed in their construction, \(q\)-Taylor formula for multivariable functions are obtained and, based on them, \(q\)-Newton-Kantorovich methods are then derived, in a similar manner to the case of the usual calculus. For this new method, corresponding convergence theorems are established in Section 4 (Theorems 4.1, 4.2 and 4.4) and some numerical examples are also given (in Section 7) to show the advantages of \(q\)-Newton-Kantorovich method in comparison to the classical one.
