Let \(R\) be a ring and let \(F_1,F_2,G_1,G_2\colon R\to R\) be arbitrary functions. The identity \(F_1(x)y+F_2(y)x+xG_2(y)+yG_1(x)=0\), \(x,y\in R\), is a basic functional identity of degree \(2\). It is known that in many rings, in particular in all prime rings, this identity has only so-called standard solutions. In triangular rings \(\text{Tri}(A,M,B)\), however, this is not the case. Recently, \textit{D. Eremita} [Linear Multilinear Algebra 63, No. 3, 534-553 (2015; Zbl 1318.16022)] described solutions of these identities in triangular rings that satisfy some technical restrictions. In the paper under review, the author is able to get rid of these restrictions.
