In each layer the displacement components are expanded into power series in the transverse direction; compatibility between the layers is enforced. For the in-plane displacements the series are truncated one order higher than for the transverse displacements. Solutions are obtained by assuming sinusoidal in-plane distribution of the functional degrees of freedom. Numerical results show good agreement with three-dimensional theory as compared to layer-wise 7th and 6th order polynomials for in-plane and transverse displacements, respectively.
