The authors introduce words with Sturmian erasures on a three-letter alphabet: they are defined as words such that each word obtained by erasing all occurrences of a fixed letter is Sturmian. Their main result is that the monoid of morphisms that send the set of all words with Sturmian erasures to itself is not finitely generated.
