The aim of the author is to characterize the Fourier series of real analytic functions and hyperfunctions on compact Lie groups by means of complex analysis. The main results are: Let \(U\) be a compact connected Lie group, and \(\Lambda=\{\lambda\in\mathbb{C}:\lambda\) is dominant and \(T\)-integral\}, \(T\) a maximal torus of a connected compact Lie group \(U\). Then: (1) The Fourier transform \(F\) gives a topological linear isomorphism of \(A(U)\) onto \(S_A(\Lambda)\), also of \(B(U)\) onto \(S_B(\Lambda)\). (2) The inverse \(F^{-1}\) of \(F\) is given by the Fourier series \(F^{-1}s\), \(s\in S_A(\Lambda)\). It converges in the topology of \(A(U)\); also \(F^{-1}s\), \(s\in S_B(\Lambda)\), converges in the topology of \(B(U)\).
