In 1971, the concept of representation dimension, as a homological measure, was introduced by Auslander to investigate how far an algebra is from being representation-finite. Until 1998, very few results on the subject appeared. In 1998, the reviewer started to re-study the subject [\textit{C.-C. Xi}, J. Algebra 226, No. 1, 332-346 (2000; Zbl 0960.16016)]; and since then, a lot of advances on the subject have been made. This paper under review is one of the interesting papers on the subject. The nice results of the paper are the following: (1) Artin algebras \(A\) such that the functor \(\Hom_A(-,A)\) has finite length have representation dimension at most \(3\). (2) Trivial extensions of iterated tilted algebras have representation dimension at most three.
