The authors propose a new numerical scheme for the generation of an orthogonal coordinate grid in an arbitrary simply connected two- dimensional domain. The scheme is non-iterative and relies on the covariant Laplace equation method. The preliminary step corresponds to a conformal mapping and is based on the boundary integral equation technique.
