The authors obtain conditions for solving two point boundary value problems for systems of nonlinear differential equations of the form \(y''=g(t,y,y',y'')\), where g is a Carathéodory function satisfying Bernstein-Nagumo type conditions with respect to \((y,y')\) and nonexpansive in \(y''\). This work is related to an earlier work of the first and second author [Ann. Pol. Mat. 54, No.3, 195-226 (1991)].
