The main purpose of this article is to give two examples. The first example is a fixed point free diametrically contractive map of a closed convex bounded set of a Banach space which does not have fixed point. The second example is a diametrically contractive map of a closed convex bounded set of a Banach space which has a (unique) fixed point, but the sequence \(T^n(x)\) does not converge to the fixed point. These examples are motivated by the fact that it is known that such examples do not exist if the domains are weakly compact and compact, respectively.
