The author shows that Desch--Schappacher and Miyadera--Voigt perturbation of immediately norm continuous semigroups are immediately norm continuous, without any additional assumption, thus improving previous results requiring some smallness properties (see, e.g., [\textit{A.\,Bátkai} and \textit{S.\,Piazzera}, ``Semigroups for delay equations'' (Research Notes in Mathematics 10; Wellesley, MA:\ A.\,K.\thinspace Peters) (2005; Zbl 1089.35001)], Hypothesis 1.45). He also considers a third perturbation method by Batty, Kaiser and Weis [\textit{C.\,J.\,K.\thinspace Batty}, Semigroup Forum 70, No.\,3, 471--474 (2005; Zbl 1098.47035)] and analyzes the relation with the characterization of norm continuity via resolvent norm estimates.
