The main result of the paper asserts the upper bounds for a hypoelliptic transition density of the kind \[ p_ t(x,y) \leq C/ \text{Vol} B_ t(x,t^{1/2}), \quad t \leq 1, \quad x,y \in R^ d, \] under uniform weak Hörmander assumptions (i.e. drift including). Here \(B_ t(x,r)\) is a ball associated with a metric generated by a full hypoelliptic operator \((1/2) \sum X^ 2_ i + X_ 0\). Earlier the author [in: Séminaire de Probabilités XXIII, Lect. Notes Math. 1372, 426-448 (1990; Zbl 0764.60053)] has studied similar two-sided bounds for some \(x,y\). The new result shows that the lower bound is relevant. The method also uses some generalization of the technique from [\textit{S. Kusuoka} and \textit{D. W. Stroock}, J. Fac. Sci., Univ. Tokyo, Sect. IA 34, 391-442 (1987; Zbl 0633.60078)]. Another result of the paper concerns some estimates for a symmetric second order operator over a Riemannian manifold.
