Topologies on the group of homeomorphisms of a Cantor set (Q2471497): Difference between revisions

This paper is a continuation of an article by the same authors [ibid. 333--385 (2006; Zbl 1136.37002)] concerned with the group of Borel automorphisms of a standard Borel space. Here the uniform and weak topologies on the group of homeomorphisms of a Cantor set, and the closures with respect to each of these topologies is found for the set of odometers, periodic, aperiodic, minimal, and rank-\(1\) maps. As in the case of the first paper in this pair, the paper is richly populated with ideas, examples, and clarifying results.
