This paper starts with four pages of mathematical history on Olga Taussky's role in forming matrix theory. The survey touches on her work with Gershgorin circles, Lyapunov stability, and the Taussky unification problem for positive definite, totally positive, and M--matrices. The last six pages give a detailed account of new row and column inclusion results for these three classes of matrices.
