\(\mathbb{C}^2\) can be identified in a natural way with the quaternion algebra. In this paper, the cohomology group \(H^1(U;\mathbb{H})\), where \(\mathbb{H}\) denotes the sheaf of hyperholomorphic functions and \(U\) a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{C}^2\) with piecewise smooth boundary is studied. Holomorphic functions on \(U\) can be interpreted as hyperholomorphic. Since the above cohomology group vanishes, any holomorphic 1-cycle is a coboundary with hyperholomorphic coefficients. In order to be a holomorphic coboundary, an explicit condition has to be fulfilled. The authors give this condition in terms of the Cauchy-Fueter integral operator.
