Let DT(I) be the set of ``Dini type'' functions on the interval \(I=[- 1,1]\), that is the set of continuous functions g with modulus of continuity \(\omega\) satisfying the condition \(\int^{1}_{0}\upsilon^{r-1}\omega (g;\delta)d\delta <\infty\). Further, let w(x) be a generalized smooth Jacobi weight, that is \(w(x)=\psi (x)\prod^{s+1}_{k=0}| t_ n-x|^{\gamma_ k},\) where \(-1=t_ 0<t_ 1<...<t_ s<t_{s+1}=1\), \(\gamma_ k>-1\) \((k=0,1,...,s+1)\), \(0\leq \psi \in DR(I)\) and 1/\(\psi\) integrable on I. The authors give a convergence theorem for Gaussian quadrature rules for evaluating the singular integrals \(\oint^{1}_{-1}w(x)f(x)/(x-t)dx\), where w(x) is a generalized smooth Jacobi weight. They also prove that, if in quadrature rule the term corresponding to the closest knot to the singularity is omitted, then a new rule that converges for any function \(f\in DT(I)\) is obtained. Some asymptotic estimates for the remainders are given.
