    A version of Stirling's formula for the q-gamma function is given which is uniform in q for q close to 1, and reduces to Stirling's formula when \(q=1\). This can be used to compute \(\prod^{\infty}_{n=0}(1-aq^ n)\) when \(0<q<1\) and q is close to 1.
