Let \(K\) be a field, \(T\) an indeterminate and \(m_ 0, \dots, m_{e-1}\) a sequence of integers \((e \geq 3)\), some \(e-1\) of which form an arithmetic sequence. Let \({\mathfrak O} = K[T^{m_ 0}, T^{m_ 1},\dots,T^{m_{e-1}}]\), and let \(R=K [X_ 0, \dots,X_{e-1}]\) be the polynomial ring. Let \(\eta : R \to {\mathfrak O}\) be the \(K\)-algebra homomorphism defined by \(\eta (X_ i) = T^{m_ i}\) and let \(P = \ker (\eta)\). In a previous joint paper by the author with \textit{B. Singh} [Manuscr. Math. 68, No. 3, 327-335 (1990; Zbl 0715.14026)] an explicit standard basis of the value semigroup of \({\mathfrak O}\) is described, and it is used to construct a set of binomials \({\mathcal G}\) which generates \(P\). In general, however, this set of binomials is not minimal. In the present paper, the author finds a subset \({\mathcal F}\) of \({\mathcal G}\) which is a minimal set of generators for \(P\). He gives an explicit formula for the number of minimal generators obtained.
