In this article the authors develop a general framework of equivariant model category theory. To this end, they define a suitable notion of group object in well-behaved symmetric monoidal categories and set an appropriate categorical context, which also permits the generalization of the standard categorical and model theoretical constructions of equivariant homotopy theory. They also show how their general equivariant model category theory can be applied to equivariant simplicial model categories and to the category of modules over a cocommutative differential graded Hopf algebra.
