Natural clusters in the fuzzy clustering model are fuzzy sets of objects whose membership functions are to be specified. The referred book deals with some methods applicable for this purpose. It is divided into five main chapters. Besides the introductory one the following chapters are focused on fuzzy clustering of 3-way data (objects, attributes and situations), additive clustering (finding similarities between pairs of objects), general fuzzy clustering (dealing with the simultaneous belongingness of a pair of objects to a cluster), and the most extensive chapter on asymmetric aggregation operators regarding the similarity between clusters. A sub-chapter dealing with the relation between neural networks and fuzzy clustering procedures represents a significant part of this conclusive chapter. The book is completed by a representative bibliography.
