In this paper, semilinear parabolic problems of the following form: \[ \begin{gathered} u^\varepsilon_t- \text{div}(p_\varepsilon(x)\nabla u^\varepsilon)+\lambda u^\varepsilon- f(u^\varepsilon),\quad\text{in }\Omega,\\ u^\varepsilon= 0,\quad\text{on }\partial\Omega,\\ u^\varepsilon(0)= u^\varepsilon_0\end{gathered} \] are considered, where \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n\) is a bounded smooth domain and \(\varepsilon\in (0,\varepsilon_0]\) is a parameter. The diffusivity \(p_\varepsilon: \Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n\to \mathbb{R}\) is assumed to be a bounded smooth function in \(\Omega\), which becomes large in a region \(\Omega_0\) such that \(\overline\Omega_0\subset\Omega\) as \(\varepsilon\) goes to zero. This situation can be seen in models for heat conduction in composite materials where heat may diffuse faster in one part of the region than in others. Under suitable assumptions, the family of attractors \({\mathcal A}_\varepsilon\) is proved to behave upper and lower semicontinuously as the diffusion blows up in \(\Omega_0\), it means when \(\varepsilon\to 0\).
