Following \textit{K. H. Kim} and \textit{F. W. Roush} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 4, 293- 315 (1980; Zbl 0451.20055)], with \(I=[0,1]\) some vector algebra for vectors from I n with scalars from I is developed. These results are used to give a sufficient condition for the existence of a minimal solution X for fuzzy relation equations \(X\circ R=B\), and to determine such a minimal solution if this condition holds true.
