Sensitivity analysis of contact problems with prescribed friction (Q1106687): Difference between revisions

The aim of this important paper is to study the sensitivity analysis of a class of variational inequalities arising in the mathematical modeling of the contact of an elastic body with a rigid foundation. The main result is that the sensitivity coefficient of the response of the elastic body with respect to the perturbations of the load is derived in the form of a unique solution of an auxiliary contact problem. Moreover the results can be used in numerical methods for optimal design of elastic structures, in particular in the domain of shape optimization.
