The author studies extremal solutions of the Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation problem in the unit disk. Nevanlinna's classical theorem states that if the problem has many solutions then every extremal solution is an inner function. The well-known problem asks whether among extremal solutions there are Blaschke products. Under some additional restrictions on the interpolation data the author proves that the extremal solutions are Blaschke products whose zeros form a finite union of interpolating sequences.
