Let \(H\) be a finite dimensional Hopf algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. An action of \(H\) on an algebra \(R\) is inner-faithful if \(IR\neq 0\) for any nonzero ideal of \(H\). Suppose that \(R\) is a non-PI filtered Artin-Schelter regular algebra of dimension 2. If an inner-faithful action of \(H\) is compatible with the filtration on \(R\) then \(H\) is a group algebra. In particular if \(H\) is semisimple, pointed and \(R\) is the \(n\)-th Weyl algebra then \(H\) is a group algebra. Suppose that \(R\) is a filtered AS-regular algebra of dimension 2 and \(H\) is semisimple. Assume that an action of \(H\) preserves the filtration and is not graded then the subalgebra of invariants \(R^H\) is filtered AS Gorenstein. Suppose that in addition \(R\) is not PI and the action of \(H\) is inner-faithful. Then \(R^H\) has global dimension at most 2.
