This paper deals with the recovery of two Lamé kernels in a viscoelastic system. The governing integro-differential system involves the Lamé coefficients \(\lambda_0\) and \(\mu_0\) and the related viscoelastic coefficients \(\lambda_1\) and \(\mu_1\). These latter functions are expressed in terms of unknown functions \(p\) and \(q\), respectively. The authors develop a new approach requiring only three observations to estimate these two unknown functions \(p\) and \(q\). The authors also successfully establish the uniqueness of the pair of functions \(p\) and \(q\) and continuous dependence on the boundary conditions where the data is kept fixed and the initial velocity and initial displacement are connected by some suitable relation.
