The aim of this paper is to study the Fatou and Julia sets of a polynomial semigroup, i.e., a semigroup generated by a family of non-constant polynomial maps on the Riemann sphere and such that the postcritical set in the complex plane is bounded. It is proved that each connected component of the Fatou set is either simply or doubly connected while the Julia set is uniformly perfect. Also, an upper bound for the cardinality of the set of all connected components of the Julia set is obtained as well as a case when the Julia set is connected.
