A group is said to be \((2,3)\)-generated if it can be generated by a pair of elements \(x\), \(y\), say, where \(x\) (resp. \(y\)) has order 2 (resp. 3). This paper is part of a series intended to prove that, with very few exceptions, classical groups defined over finite fields are \((2,3)\)-generated. [See, for example, part I, the authors and \textit{N. Gavioli}, J. Algebra 168, No. 1, 353-370 (1994; Zbl 0819.20053).]\ Using methods similar to those of part I the authors prove that ``most'' of the following quasi-simple groups are \((2,3)\)-generated: \(\text{SU}_{2n+1}(q^2)\), \(\Omega_{2n+1}(q)\), \(\Omega^-_{2n+2}(q)\) and \(\text{SU}_{2n}(q^2)\), where \(q\) is a prime power.
