This paper considers the Cauchy problem for the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation \[ \begin{cases} iu_t=\partial_x^2u\mp 2|u|^2u \\ u_{|t=0}=u_0\tag{1} \end{cases} \] in the whole line case \(\mathbb{R}\) and periodic case \(\mathbb{T}\). First the authors introduce the new functional space \(MH^{\theta,p}\), for \(\theta<-\frac{1}{2}\), which coincides with the modulation \(M^{2,p}\) on \(\mathbb{R}\) and with Fourier-Lebesque space \(FL^{p}\) on \(\mathbb{T}\). Then is proved that the equation (1) is globally well-posed in \(M^{2,p}\) on the whole line case and globally well-posed in \(FL^p\) in the periodic case, for \(p<\infty\).
