It is well-known that the so-called triangular numbers are the positive integers \[ T_n=\frac{n(n+1)}{2}. \] This paper aims at finding solutions to the equation \(T_{\xi}=kT_t\). Note that, for instance, it was already known to Euler that this equation had infinitely many solutions for \(k=3\). In this paper, the authors give families of solutions to that equation defined by recursive relations. In particular, it is proved that the equation \(T_{\xi}=kT_t\) has infinitely many solutions for every \(k\).
