This paper describes how to determine corrections to the trapezoidal rule for integrands with a known singularity at one endpoint. The corrections allow arbitrary order and generalize earlier work by \textit{V. Rokhlin} [Comput. Math. Appl. 20, No. 7, 51-62 (1990; Zbl 0716.65017)] and \textit{H. P. Starr} [On the numerical solution of one-dimensional integral and differential equations. Ph. D. Thesis, Yale Univ. (1991)]. The primary contribution of the paper is to show how the addition of suitably placed integrand evaluation points can be used to control the growth in the size of the quadrature weights. Several examples illustrate the use of the new integration rules for simple integrands with standard singularities, but there are no integral equation examples, and no discussion of how the rules with extra points can be used for the solution of integral equations.
