The author proves the strong convergence of a sequence of iterates, generated by a suitable recurrence formula based upon an averaging, towards a fixed point of an asymptotically nonexpansive mapping. The underlying Banach space is assumed to be uniformly convex with weakly continuous duality mapping. What the reader is missing is an illustration of the theoretical results and a hint to applications.
