The authors study the blow up of solutions to the non-stationary incompressible Navier-Stokes problem coupled with the heat equation with a nonlinear source term. The equations are equipped with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions for the velocity and either homogeneous Dirichlet or Neumann condition for the temperature. The velocity cannot blow up prior to the temperature. For the time of blow up of the temperature, lower bounds are estimated under suitable assumptions on the nonlinear source term.
