The authors consider the nonlinear boundary value problem \[ u''+ k\bigl(u(t)-v(t)\bigr)+p(t)\cdot f\bigl(u(t)\bigr)=h(t),\;t\in[0,\pi] , \] \[ v''+k\bigl (v(t)-u(t)\bigr)+p(t)\cdot g\bigl(v(t)\bigr)=j(t),\;t\in[0, \pi],\tag{1} \] \[ u(0)=u(\pi)=v(0)=v(\pi)=0, \] where \(k\) is a positive constant; \(p,h,j\in C([0,\overline u],\mathbb{R})\); \(f,g:\mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R}\) are continuous and \(T\)-periodic functions with zero mean value, i.e., \(\int^T_0f(u)du=0\), \(\int^T_0g(u)du=0\). The authors study the existence and multiplicity of solutions to problem (1) using various methods of nonlinear analysis, for example, the Schauder fixed-point theorem.
