The authors show that the maximal operators, the Riesz transforms, the Littlewood-Paley-Stein square functions and some multipliers of Laplace or Laplace-Stieltjes transform type when considered in the Bessel setting can be viewed as vector-valued Calderón-Zygmund type operators defined on spaces of homogeneous type \((\mathbb R^n_+,d\mu_\lambda)\), where \(d\mu_\lambda(x)=\prod_{i=1}^n x_i^{2\lambda_i} dx_i\) for \(\lambda_i>-1/2\). The main theorem is established by showing that in each case the kernel satisfies the growth condition \(\|K(x,y)\|_{\mathbb B}\leq C \frac{1}{\mu_\lambda(B(x, |x-y|)}\) and the smoothness conditions \(\|K(x,y)- K(x',y)\|_{\mathbb B}\leq C \frac{|x-x'|}{|x-y|\mu_\lambda(B(x, |x-y|))}\) whenever \(|x-y|>2|x-x'|\) as well as the symmetric one, where the Banach space \(\mathbb B\) is chosen accordingly in each case.
