For (not necessarily commuting) self-adjoint operators \(A\) and \(B\), the functional calculus \(f \mapsto f (A, B)\) was defined in [the first author et al., C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 353, No. 3, 209--214 (2015; Zbl 1309.47009)] in terms of double operator integrals. In the paper under review, the authors study perturbations of functions \(f(A, B)\). They prove that, if \(f\) belongs to the Besov class \(B_{\infty,1}^1(\mathbb{R}^2)\), then the Lipschitz-type estimate \(\|f(A_1,B_1)-f(A_2,B_2)\|_{S_p} <\text{const}(\|A_1-A_2\|_{S_p} + \|B_1-B_2\|_{S_p})\) holds in the Schatten-von Neumann norm \(S_p\) for \(1 \leq p \leq 2\), while such Lipschitz-type estimates do not hold for \(p > 2\). To obtain a Lipschitz-type estimate, they represent the difference \(f(A_1,B_1)-f(A_2,B_2)\) in terms of triple operator integrals.
