Suppose that \(\{G_1(t)\}_{t\geq 0}\) and \(\{G_2(t)\}_{t\geq 0}\) are two \(C_0\)-semigroups on an infinite-dimensional separable reflexive Banach space \({\mathcal X}\). In this paper, the authors give sufficient conditions for the tensor product semigroup \({\mathcal G}(t)\), acting on \(X\in L({\mathcal X})\) by \({\mathcal G}(t)X = G_2(t)XG_1(t)\), to become chaotic in \(L({\mathcal X})\) with the strong operator topology, and chaotic in the ideal of compact operators on \({\mathcal X}\) with the norm operator topology. For example, Theorem 3.1 states that \({\mathcal G}\) is a chaotic semigroup on \(L({\mathcal X})\), with respect to the strong operator topology, if there exits \(t_0> 0\) such that \(G_2(t_0)\) is chaotic and such that \(G^*_1(t_0)\) has a dense set of periodic points. Several examples in sequence spaces are given.
