\textit{G.-J. Wang} and \textit{C.-L. Tai} [ibid. 214, No.~1, 163--174 (2008; Zbl 1138.65017)] have shown that the derivatives up to order 3 of a hybrid polynomial approximation to a rational Bézier curve can be used to approximate the derivatives of the curve. When the degree of the hybrid approximation goes to \(\infty\), the convergence of the approximate derivatives to the correct ones is uniform if the hybrid approximation converges to the rational curve. In this paper the same results are extended to derivatives of arbitrary order larger than 3.
