The author proves a condition for a convex hexagon on the plane to be centrally symmetric with respect to a given point. Namely, let \(K\subset{\mathbb R}^2\) be a convex hexagon with sides \(\ell_0,\dots,\ell_5\) (in the natural order), and let \(p\in\text{int}K\). Suppose that the opposite sides \(\ell_k\) and \(\ell_{k+3 \mod 6}\) are parallel and that the areas of the convex hulls \(\text{conv}(p,\ell_k)\) and \(\text{conv}(p,\ell_{k+3 \mod 6})\) are equal, \(k=0,1,2\). Then \(K\) is centrally symmetric with respect to~\(p\).
