Let \(\mathbf{OC}\) denote the lattice of all semigroup varieties that contain the variety of all commutative semigroups. The author proves that a variety \({\mathcal V}\in\mathbf{OC}\) is a (co)distributive element of \(\mathbf{OC}\) iff \(\mathcal V\) is a (co)standard element of \(\mathbf{OC}\) iff \(\mathcal V\) is a neutral element of \(\mathbf{OC}\). He provides a complete description of all such varieties which form a countably infinite distributive sublattice of \(\mathbf{OC}\).
