For the purposes of computational homology a \(q\)-cycle on a subset of Euclidean space can be represented as a sum of \(q\)-dimensional cubes whose faces are parallel to the coordinate planes. This paper is devoted to giving an algorithmic description of a construction for the coboundary of such a cycle when it is supported in a rectangular set. The essence of the construction lies in selecting appropriate coefficients for the \((q+1)\)-cubes across which the cycle would pass under projection onto one of the coordinate planes.
