Linear finite-dimensional continuous-time control systems are considered. Using pure algebraic methods necessary and sufficient conditions for impulsive controllability in finite time are formulated and proved. Several special cases are also investigated. Moreover, many remarks and comments on positive impulsive controllability problems for linear control systems are presented. Finally, as an application, impulsive maneuvering of a spacecraft is discussed. Similar impulsive controllability problems have been considered in the paper [\textit{Z. Wyderka}, Syst. Sci. 6, 385-390 (1980; Zbl 0499.34042)].
