A convex body \(K\) in the euclidean plane is called \(r\)-fat if it contains a disc of radius \(r\) and is contained in a unit disc. Let \(f_{K}(6)\) denote the maximum area of a convex polygon with at most \(6\) sides contained in \(K\). Let \(r_{0}:=0.933\) and \(r_{1}:=0.741\). The author proves that, if congruent copies of an \(r_{0}\)-fat convex body \(K\) cover a convex hexagon \(H\), then their density relative to \(H\) is at least \(\text{area}(K)/f_{K}(6)\). As a consequence, if \(K\) is centrally symmetric and \(r_{0}\)-fat, this bounds is exactly the (plane) covering density of \(K\). Moreover, if \(K\) is an \(r_{1}\)-fat ellipse and congruent copies of it cover a convex hexagon \(H\), then the density relative to \(H\) is at least \(2\pi/\sqrt{27}\).
