The authors consider a self-affine iterated function system (IFS) in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) (\(d\geq 2\)) where they allow a small random translation at each application of the contractions. It is computed the Hausdorff dimension of a typical attractor of the resulting random IFS, complementing a famous deterministic result of K. J. Falconer using some restrictions. The result of this paper has the advantage that it is not necessary to assume any condition on the norms. This is a benefit in practical applications, where such perturbations would correspond to the effect of random noise. There are given analogous results for the dimension of ergodic measure (in terms of their Lyapunov dimension). Finally it is applied the method to a problem originating in the theory of fractal image compression. The paper is very well written and the subject is very actual.
