By observing that the integrand vector of the boundary integral equation for two-dimensional Stokes equations or for the equations for incompressible elastic materials is divergence free, the authors show that the line integrals can be converted to path-independent integrals which do not require any numerical integration. Numerical solutions for some well-known examples are compared with analytical ones to validate the development. The numerical implementation is based on a penalty function approach which requires a more rigorous choice of the penalty parameter in a future work.
