Spatially homogeneous cosmological models of Bianchi type \(VI_ h\) cannot approach isotropy asymptotically at large times, and so are regarded as unphysical. A class of solutions is considered which become asymptotic to an anisotropic vacuum plane wave, but for these solutions the initial anisotropy can decay, leading to a model close to isotropy. Thus they could serve as models of the actual universe.
