Remarks on the Cauchy problem for first order hyperbolic systems with constant coefficient principal part (Q2465929): Difference between revisions

In the present study the author considers first-order hyperbolic systems with constant coefficient principal part. Under the maximal rank condition the author gives a necessary and sufficient condition that the Cauchy problem for these operators is \(C^\infty\) well-posed. Since the maximal rank condition is too strong, the author also presents a simple sufficient condition for the \(C^\infty\) well-posedness without any assumptions on the rank.
