    Let \(\Omega\) be a closed convex subset of a Banach space \(X\) and \(x\in X\). An element \(\overline x\in\Omega\) such that \(\| x-\overline x\|= \min_{m\in\Omega}\| x- m\|\) is called a nearest point to \(x\). If for each \(x\in X\), there exists a unique nearest point in \(\Omega\), say \(P_\Omega(x)\), then the map \(P_\Omega: X\to\Omega\) is called the metric projection. The moduli of convexity and smoothness of \(X\) are defined, respectively, by \[ \delta_X(\varepsilon)= \inf\{1-\| \textstyle{{1\over 2}} (x+ y)\|:\| x\|=\| y\|, \| x-y\|= \varepsilon\},\;0\leq \varepsilon\leq 2, \] and \[ P_X(t)= \sup\{\textstyle{{1\over 2}} (\| x+ y\|+\| x-y\|)- 1:\| x\|= 1, \| y\|= t\},\;t>0. \] Let \(p\geq 2\), \(1< q\leq 2\), \(X\) is said to be \(p\)-uniformly convex (resp. \(q\)-uniformly smooth) if there is a constant \(d>0\) such that \(\delta_X(\varepsilon)\geq d\varepsilon^p\) (resp. \(P_X(t)\leq dt^q\)). The main purpose of the paper is to give a global estimate for Lipschitz constants of metric projections in a \(p\)-uniformly convex and \(q\)-uniformly smooth Banach space. Main Theorem: Let \(X\) be a \(p\)-uniformly convex and \(q\)-uniformly smooth Banach space. Let \(\Omega\) be a closed convex subset in \(X\). Then for any \(x,y\in X\), we have \[ \| P_\Omega(x)- P_\Omega(y)\|\leq \Biggl[{pc_q(2^{p- 1}- 1\over qd_p(2^{q- 1}- 1)} c^{p-q}\Biggr]\| x- y\|^{q/p}, \] where \[ d_p= \inf\Biggl\{{(1/2)\| x\|^p+ (1/2)\| y\|^p- \|(x+ y)/2\|^p\over\|(x- y)/2\|^p}:\| x- y\|> 0\Biggr\}, \] \[ c_q= \sup\Biggl\{{(1/2)\| x\|^q+ (1/2)\| y\|^q-\|(x+ y)/2\|^q\over \|(x- y)/2\|^q}:\| x- y\|> 0\Biggr\}, \] and \[ c= \max\{\| x- P_\Omega(y)\|,\;\| y- P_\Omega(x)\|\}. \]
