The authors consider the time-dependent problem of solid-liquid change of phase in a bounded domain of \({\mathbb{R}}^ 3\), using the classical Stokes- Boussinesq conduction-convection model with the Stefan condition at the free boundary. Introducing the parabolic ``Hausdorff'' measure and dimension, they prove the weak solvability of the problem, except possibly for a closed set of dimension at most 5/3, whose measure is arbitrarily small.
